Hello! I am a sixteen year veteran of Seminole County Schools. In that time, I taught every grade from 6th - 12th, spending most of my career at Winter Springs High School. During the 2012-2013 school year, I was promoted to the position of Lead Teacher at South Seminole Middle School. In this capacity I engaged in diverse projects and initiatives that enhance many aspects of teaching and learning. While teaching English as a profession, I have been working with Daniel Robie and conducting SAT tutoring since 2007. In 2013, I left SCPS to tutor full time. I am certified by the state of Florida to teach both English and Mathematics in grades 6th - 12th. I have a Bachelors Degree in English Education from the University of South Florida, a Master’s Degree in Divinity from Duke University, and a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from University of Central Florida. I am available for SAT, PSAT, ACT, GRE, ISEE, as well as school classes such as English and Mathematics.
I teach all the sections of the SAT and ACT. As mentioned above, I’m certified in both English and Math. Test taking begins and ends with strategies. That is our focus, but we will address content as needed while we work through each section. Yes, I can focus on just one section or the other, but I generally find that everyone can benefit from learning some strategies in all sections.
I have worked with all types of students in all levels of classes. One of the joys of one on one tutoring is the ability to adapt to each student’s particular needs.
I also love working on those dreaded college essays with students. I do NOT write them for your student, but I can help them bring out the best in their own writing!
Single session pricing: $70 for one 55 minute session for one student; $90 for one 55 minute session for two students; and $120 for one 55 minute session for three students. (The students split the fee amongst them so if two students attend a session together, each would pay $45.)
Why is it 55 minutes? I need a few minutes for students to come and go between sessions. Some students get cheated a few minutes if I don’t have a cushion between. Please be respectful of other’s time.
If you are interested in groups of four or more, we will have to arrange a private class. I do not recommend this many students at once due to scheduling conflicts. Email to find out more.

If you are booking for SAT, ACT, GRE, or ISEE you will have supply fees for the materials we will use:
SAT / PSAT: You can download test from the College Board (test 5-10 are best) and print them. (I can email them to you as well for printing.) Or you can purchase the NEW CollegeBoard The Official SAT Study Guide 2020 edition with 8 tests (published in May 2019). I have them for you for $20 if you wish to purchase from me. We only use official Collegeboard tests.
ACT: The Official ACT Prep Guide 2019-2020 (published May 2019) $20 Again, we only use official tests.
GRE: The Official GRE book $20
ISEE: Success on the Lower Level ISEE $20

I have two cats and one dog in my home. They are not be allowed in the office. (I have a room at the front of the house that is only for tutoring.) If you have extreme allergies, you might want to meet at the Arby’s on 17/92 ( 3725 Orlando Blvd, Sanford, FL 32773). Please email me BEFORE booking so I can explain how to make this work. Number of sessions
I suggest you try to meet once a week for one hour at a time. This gives you consistency but also time to do homework in between appointments. All students will be given homework between sessions. Homework must be completed in order to learn the strategies I’m teaching. As for the number of sessions, it really depends on the student.
PLEASE NOTE: you must schedule an appointment for EVERY time you wish to meet. Scheduling Tuesday at 2 PM does NOT schedule you for every Tuesday at 2 PM. I apologize for the extra time this might take but there is no other way. You can book as many appointments ahead as you like; you just must fill out a form for each one.

Cancellations made more than 48 hours before an appointment will result in no cancellation fee. Cancellations (including rescheduling) made less than 48 hours before an appointment will result in a cancellation fee equal to the value of the cancelled appointment.
